David Martin tells how he discovered the skeleton of a carrier pigeon
carrying a coded message in his chimney of his home near Reigate,
Surrey. Martin was renovating his fireplace when he came across the
bird's remains, with a red message-barrel still attached to its leg. War
experts are now trying to decipher the message
